Petwalk

Pet walking and grooming services

Petwalk is an app inspired by UBER where pet owners search for people near by to take their dogs for a walk, look after them or even take them to groom.

OPPORTUNITY

High rise living is increasing and many people living in apartments do not always have the time or energy to walk their pets or have someone to take care of them.

USER JOURNEY

USER INTERVIEWS

"Bryan said he has used Rover.com but would like to see a map or route of where people walk your dog as proof of doing a good job."

"It is mainly about trust, he says, I have keys to some of my neighbores backyards  to get their dogs and walk them."

"Usually I meet the dogs before accepting, I never had any issues but I know a dog of a client once bit someone else."

PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

SKETCHING

From user flows to wireframes, my mind always goes in paper first.

USER TESTING

Asked users to try to book John (name of pet sitter in mock-up) to walk their dog. The users successfully booked it yet when asked to sign out and switch profiles to sign-in as a pet sitter they had problems finding out how to do so. I first decided to change the flow for how you sign-in to the different profiles but then decided that it would be better to just make a second application for the pet sitters.

BUSINESS DIRECTIONS

When moving forward with the project and partnering with a marketing specialist, there was the possibility to sell the idea once developed. One potential client was Top Choice in Mexico so we took a direction of adding a feature to promote the brand's products.

We also expanded our services to offer grooming apart just pet walking and pet sitting.
